General Chapter
Information:
Our chapter was originally
chartered as the East Grand Rapids Chapter, later changed to the Greater Grand
Rapids Chapter. We currently have fifty members. Stitchers of all skill level
are welcome, whether you’re a newcomer to embroidery or an advanced stitcher.
Meeting Times
and Locations: 
We have monthly daytime and evening meetings. You are invited to come to either
one or both meetings. Generally different programs or projects are presented at
the different meetings.
The
daytime group
meets the 4th Friday of the month at First Methodist Church, 227 East Fulton,
Grand Rapids, at 9:00AM in the months of January through April and September
through October. If Grand Rapids schools are closed for inclement weather, then
the day group meetings are cancelled.
The evening group
meets the 4th Thursday of the month at Heather Hills
Retirement Village, 1055 Forest Hill Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, at 6:45PM in the months of January through May and
September through October. If Forest Hills schools are closed for inclement
weather, then the night group meetings are cancelled. In May we combine the
daytime and evening meetings with a potluck dinner and program. In December we meet in the evening for our annual Christmas
party, including a stitched ornament exchange, date and location to be
announced.
In addition to our general meetings, there are
informal stitch-ins throughout the month. We also participate in several
community outreach programs including stitching samplers for new Habitat for
Humanity homeowners, smocking neonatal gowns for the WeeCare program, collecting
and sending needlework kits to the Sam Houston Army Rehabilitation Center, and
knitting and collecting hats and mittens for the Ronald McDonald House.

How to Join our Chapter:
Anyone interested in joining our chapter is
invited to visit us at one of our regularly scheduled meetings. Annual dues are
$43.
